I paint my face I brush my fair
A face that was once beautiful looks back with despair
I brace myself for the cold morning air
I take myself to a place where no one cares

Cos I played upon the stages, I had my name in lights
Put smiles on peoples faces, made the cry at night
Now I'm only killing time until the next show comes around

I stare at the clock that erodes my life away
I plead it to stop but with each moment I'm closer to the grave

I had my part to play but now that part's gone
I wish that I could stay but farewell and so long
The light that caught my eye has been turned off now for good
So now I'll just go...
